This is Mrs. Kenny, who is part of a Linking Generations pilot project that many Holy Spirit classrooms are participating in. Mrs. Kenny is an active member of OLPH church and will be visiting us for about 2 hours every month. She read us a story and then helped us with a pumpkin craft.
The pictures are out of order....
At the end of the post you will see the students working on these challenges during the afternoon of Halloween.
Mr. Kucy didn't come to school today. Instead Noah invited us all to come and be on his ark.
Look at the variety of costumes that the students wore today! They do not look like the kind of costumes that I remember from trick or treating as a kid (just a few years ago!)
The girls
and the boys!
Noah and his animals from the ark was the staff theme this year.
Easy to find me today....just follow the trail of cotton balls.....
Here are the teams of students working on the various STEM challenges.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The brown kraft bags held all the materials for the students to try and complete the challenge. Working together, sharing ideas, communicating and completing the task are all part of these activities. The students are becoming much more confident in these areas because of activities like the ones that they tried today.
